What We Believe

Our Purpose

To know Christ to make Him known.

Our Vision

That everyone be welcomed to a worshiping, caring, and sending fellowship of growing disciples who share the love and Good News of Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

We believe that the Almighty and Eternal God has created us, loves us and is concerned about us - regardless of our circumstances or station in life.

We believe our most basic and urgent need is to know a loving, forgiving God. We believe God has met this need through Jesus Christ, His Son, as revealed through His Word, The Bible.

We believe God desires each of us to be in relationship with Him.

We believe that meaningful and fulfilling relationships occur with the context of Christian community - where people can know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served.

Our Core Values

Grace God freely forgives us all our sins and makes us His children, bringing His love to us through His Word and the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion.

Ephesians 2:8 (NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…

Faith

We trust in the love of God the Father, who by the Holy Spirit has brought us to saving faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, our only hope for eternal life in heaven and abundant life on earth.

Acts 4:12 (NIV) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

God's Word

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, providing a sure footing for our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, [17] so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Worship

We respond to God's unconditional love by glorifying Him in meaningful and relevant worship both as individuals and together as a fellowship of believers.

John 4:23 (NIV) Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

Prayer

We come before God, in the name of Jesus Christ, to praise Him, thank Him for His blessings, confess our sins, and seek His guidance and power for all aspects of our daily life.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Giftedness

The Holy Spirit endows each of us with gifts and abilities by which we can bless others.

1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV) Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

Discipleship

Christ invites all people to follow Him in a life of increasing commitment, growth, and service.

Luke 9:23 (NIV) Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

Outreach

God's love compels us to share the Gospel with those who do not have a faith in Jesus Christ, trusting the Holy Spirit to bring them into a relationship with Him and into the fellowship of believers.

John 3:16-17 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Love

Our faith is active in deeds of love. Christ's love constrains us to serve our neighbors near and far.

1 John 4:10-11 (NIV) This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. [11] Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
